challenge

This professional salon shampoo keeps client’s hair color fresh and vivid. Inside the bottle, the product was a hit with stylists but sales had started to slip and the brand just wasn’t capturing new buyers. A major facelift was needed and with plans for potential line extensions, the brand structure needed to serve many different types of products.

creative solution

Capitalizing on how the product could be customized based on the hair color and use frequency, I created the iconic logo which was adapted for each shampoo shade. Creating something that was both simple and adaptable allowed for endless variations while still maintaining brand consistency.

benefits

Because the brand icon was made with expansion in mind, it translated effortlessly into every aspect of branding and marketing. Not only did it communicate the unique color changing feature of the shampoo product but also adapted seamlessly into all extension product lines.

The brand line now consists of shampoos, conditioners, root color sprays, hair color and support products. It has become the company’s flagship product and is in professional salons all across the U.S and Canada.

Kelly had an extensive program offering and was set to rebrand and expand her services to better target affluent business owners. Her demographic of 6,7 and 8-figure clients were ready to step into the next level of their businesses with Kelly’s guidance and she was ready to break the mold with an innovative brand concept. As the owner of a brand agency, she consistently needs to be ahead of the curve with her own brand and it has to be flawless in its strategy and execution. With more than 20 individual brands, programs and levels of services, Kelly’s company is complex and the new branding would need to appeal to her affluent clients as well as her budding entrepreneurs while still capturing Kelly’s no-nonsense communication style.

creative solution

Since Kelly’s company IS her expertise, knowledge and kind but tell-it-like-it-is style, her brand needed to be both a reflection of her as well as something that would appeal and attract the affluent business client. Most importantly, we needed to vastly differentiate the brand from the highly saturated “business coaching” market. We chose to use a vast color palette of jewel-toned colors to illustrate a high-end, luxury feeling as well as to aid in the hierarchy of her service levels. We selected a sans-serif font as well as a hand-written font for her logo structure. Her photography is carefully chosen to communicate the concepts of her programs and results rather than the standard business working scene. To continue the hierarchy and not confuse the message with color photography, all of the photographs are muted with the brand’s color palette. This helps the typography and ultimately her product’s message stand out.

LIVFRESH has a unique product that requires educating its customers while communicating the brand’s purpose and features. We began our partnership when they were shifting the company’s focus and adding on to their product offerings. They needed a new website, new product packaging for their current SKUs as well as upcoming products and all the marketing and promotional graphics to launch the rebrand.

creative solution

Because the logo was established before coming on board, I took the classic look of the black and silver and added a bright mint green and blue to create a clean, fresh color palette. I also created custom iconography and graphs to help illustrate the technical features and benefits that make their flagship product so unique. Along with beautiful product and environmental photography, we created a lasting brand style across multiple marketing venues that is both educational and one that stands out in an online space.
